Golf did not emerge by accident. It was shaped over generations through custom, ritual,
and etiquette to give rise to tradition.

These accumulated practices transformed Golf into something greater than a game.

They established a civilization.

The Society of Teemasons exists to preserve that civilization. The Orders define the standards of civilized golf and the conduct expected of those who wish to play The Game as intended.

For centuries, Golf has endured assaults upon its standards and emerged intact. Recent history, however, suggests that Golf and its traditions are experiencing an unprecedented erosion of standards.

The Society considers such decline unacceptable.

The Orders have been published. Additional Orders shall be issued as circumstances require.
